Conference Date Announced
OneStar is pleased to announce that this year’s Governor’s Volunteer Leadership Conference will be on Oct. 11-12 at the Westin Galleria in Houston, Texas.

The Governor’s Volunteer Leadership Conference is one of the largest gatherings of volunteer managers and community leaders in Texas. The conference provides a statewide forum for directors of volunteers to gather together to connect with other leaders to focus on community engagement and community renewal. The conference also provides excellent training and technical assistance to organizations learning to strengthen organizational capacity, build partnerships, evaluate programs, and develop community assets. For 29 years, representatives from state, national and corporate volunteer programs as well as community, faith-based, education, and volunteer centers participate.

This year OneStar will be offering a number of targeted pre-conference and post-conference seminars that provide concentrated training in areas and demographics such as: mentoring, faith-based, and national service. More information about the seminars will be announced in the coming months.  If your organization would like to host a seminar for your specific agency or area, contact gvlc@onestarfoundation.org or call 512-473-2140 ext. 214.

Registration for the conference will be available in the coming months. For more information about the Governor’s Volunteer Leadership Conference, e-mail gvlc@onestarfoundation.org.
